History

A legacy of tradition and excellence since 1905

University Club de M茅xico - Sede hist贸rica

The Beginning of a Tradition

The University Club of Mexico was founded in 1905, when a group of professional men sought to bring together residents of various nationalities with a shared culture and university background.

The Club's first headquarters was a house located on the corner of Bucareli and Donato Guerra.

A New Home

In 1932, the Club's headquarters moved to Casa Gargollo, a Porfirian-era residence built in 1904 by architect Jos茅 Luis Cuevas Pietrasanta, located at Paseo de la Reforma 150.

Its original owners were Jos茅 Gargollo and Alicia Rivas Mercado.

Witness to History

The Club has witnessed many significant moments. Within its halls, pages of national history have been written, sometimes becoming public because of their influence on the collective future.

Who We Are

Where History Meets the Present

Founded under the spirit of intellectual exchange and fraternity, The University Club of Mexico is more than a meeting place; it is home to the ideas that transform our society.

Within the walls of the iconic Casa Gargollo, home of The University Club of Mexico, time seems to stand still to make way for excellence. Here, diplomacy, art, and business converge in an atmosphere of absolute distinction.

Being part of the Club means belonging to a century-old tradition that values knowledge, celebrates fine dining, and cultivates relationships that transcend generations.

Since 1905, we have been custodians of a legacy that honors academic excellence, social refinement, and commitment to the intellectual development of our community.
