The Beginning of a Tradition
The University Club of Mexico was founded in 1905, when a group of professional men sought to bring together residents of various nationalities with a shared culture and university background.
The Club's first headquarters was a house located on the corner of Bucareli and Donato Guerra.
A New Home
In 1932, the Club's headquarters moved to Casa Gargollo, a Porfirian-era residence built in 1904 by architect Jos茅 Luis Cuevas Pietrasanta, located at Paseo de la Reforma 150.
Its original owners were Jos茅 Gargollo and Alicia Rivas Mercado.
